Committee Members:

 Hayley Shaw

Hayley is a busy person, she is a veterinarian, a mother, and runs a boutique warmblood stud called PL Performance Horses (PLPH).  She does her own breeding work and breeds her own carefully selected mares to mostly European stallions.  PLPH also stands the Cremello Warmblood Stallion SP Blue Eyed Ghost.  All young stock are of course registered with the NZWA and she has a passion for producing quality jumping horses with exceptional temperaments that are very ridable.  In her “spare time” she enjoys competing the young horses she is producing predominantly in show hunter but she also dabbles in show jumping.  Hayley strongly believes in the importance of transparency, and quality assurance when breeding and offering horses for sale, which course registering horses plays a huge role in.

Rebecca Kerr

Rebecca is an extremely hard working rider, trainer, stallion owner and breeder who's equine business runs under the name of Maungatua Equestrian.  Rebecca stands the popular palomino German Warmblood Pony Stallion Golden Strike and also the fantastic all-rounder Campion KSNZ. Both of these stallions are licensed with the NZWA and Rebecca has proven herself to be a stickler when it comes to stallion paperwork, registering foals, and entering Classification Tours.  Rebecca herself is a talented and dedicated rider who competes in dressage and show hunter and spends her summers collecting semen from her stallions for their ever-growing mare list. Rebecca also schools and breaks in horses, runs an agistment facility and gives lessons whilst still managing to help out on her parents dairy farm.

Ana Rattray

Ana is a well known breeder and producer of showjumping horses in New Zealand, and together with her sister Tors she runs Cheleken Equestrian at Mangatangi.  She has over 40 years of breeding experience, with her love for this being passed down from her parents who were avid breeders themselves.  Ana's interests lay in the promotion of NZ bred horses and getting these horses recognised internationally. Georgia Sheard

Georgia is a young breeder and show jumper who runs Rose Flats Equestrian in Auckland. Alongside her father she caught the breeding bug when their first foal was born at the beginning of 2015, and since then they have been breeding up to five foals per year. Georgia is really passionate about increasing the number of breeders and riders who register their warmbloods, plus DNA testing to ensure breeders are accountable for what they’re claiming.  Georgia firmly believes passports are an important step moving forward especially for age group classes.

Jennifer McNeill

Jen is passionate about breeding quality sport ponies as the owner of Waimakariri Pony Stud. Jen works full time and rides dressage on her ponies and has coached at pony club for over 25 years to bring through young riders for the future. As a boutique breeder Jen has had great success to date with all foals put forward for Classification so far gaining wide ribbons.

Mary Petersen

Mary is passionate about all things equestrian and has been riding all her life until recently: with a focus on S.J., S.H., and Hunting. From her boutique Bargrove Stud in Central H.B. she has been successfully breeding NZ Sport Horses for 30+ years, with a recent interest in Warmbloods. Homebred successes include International sales to Chinese Olympic Team, Winner of Defender HOY 2025 Eventing 4*, with multiple N.Z and Australian Eventing 3 & 4* wins. The impact on the NZWarmblood breeding has been rewarding with Bargrove Stud Studbook Mares gaining excellence along with their foals! Recently Mary gained Level 1 status for S.H. Judge – her vision is to make Show Hunter great as she works her way toward a Level 3 Judge. Show Hunter is a wonderful arena to educate and showcase our young horses. This aligns with our young horses’ passports and transparency: moving towards international and professional accountability.

Paula Brocklehurst

Paula’s lifelong involvement with horses began with eventing, where she focused on producing young Thoroughbreds. The most notable being Deveron, who went on to compete at Badminton. More recently, Paula has turned her focus to breeding showjumpers, finding early success with her first two homebreds, Parisian Affair and Mack. A veterinarian based in Wellsford, Paula is driven by a commitment to continuous learning. Her passion lies in taking good genetics and applying modern, data-driven training approaches to unlock a horse's full potential while prioritizing animal welfare. Paula firmly believes that success is built on a collaborative approach, with accessible and transparent information benefiting the entire equestrian community.
